Roasted Chana chaat is a tasty, tangy, and easy variety of chaat snack recipe made with roasted chana (Roasted gram )with skin spices, herbs, onions, tomatoes, boiled potato, apple and lemon. This chaat is easy to prepare and quick to assemble snack recipe for the evening hunger pangs.
Roasted gram salad, or roasted chana chaat, is a nutrition-packed and healthy snack variety. This recipe is perfect for Weight Watchers. It has all the flavours required for chaat: sweet, salty, and tangy. This refreshing protein and fibre-rich salad has fresh and savoury flavours; you can enjoy it as a great breakfast or snack. This recipe is vegan & gluten-free. It is excellent for weight loss and can be served as an evening snacks or a side dish. This recipe is quite adaptable; you can add fruits and ingredients according to your choice, like pomegranate arils, amchur masala instead of chaat masala, roasted almonds, etc.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Roasted Chana
  • 1 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • ¼ tsp Hing
  • ¼ cup Cucumber , chopped
  • ¼ cup Onion , chopped
  • ¼ cup Boiled Potato , chopped
  • ¼ cup Apple , chopped
  • ¼ cup Tomato , chopped
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves , chopped
  • ¼ cup Lettuce Leaves , chopped
  • 1 tsp Green chilli , finely chopped
  • ½ tsp Black Salt
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • ½ tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Roasted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp Bhujia (optional) For garnishing
  • Coriander leaves For garnishing

Instructions
 

  • Peel and chop the onion finely. Chop the tomato, green chilli, cucumber, coriander leaves, and lettuce. Keep them aside.
  • Chop the apples, and add a few drops of lemon juice to the apple pieces. Mix it well and set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of mustard oil in a pan or kadhai. Heat the oil until it is smoking hot, and turn the flame low.
  • Add hing and roasted chana. Mix it well and roast the chana on low flame for 3-4 minutes. Turn off the flame and transfer the roasted chana to a mixing bowl.
  • Add cucumber, apple, boiled potato, onion, tomato, green chilli, coriander leaves, lettuce, black salt, salt to taste, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, lemon juice and roasted peanuts. Mix them well.
  • Serve the roasted chana chat in a serving bowl and garnish it with coriander leaves and bhujia sev (optional).
  • Spicy and tangy Roasted chana chat is ready to serve!
