Kada Prasad is a decadent dessert prepared in Desi Ghee (clarified butter) and offered to all who come to visit & pray in a Gurudwara. This divine and pious halwa is made with four simple ingredients – whole wheat flour, ghee, sugar and water. The proportion of this halwa is a 1:1:1:2 ratio of wheat flour, ghee, sugar and water, respectively. This prasad has a different taste than the usual Atta halwa. The taste of the simple halwa served at Gurudwara is divine. No other sweet dish can compare to its flavour, aroma and rich texture. The soul of this halwa is its simple flavour.
You can replace the sugar with jaggery, palm sugar or khandsari sugar. Do not substitute ghee with any other oil, as it will not give you the desired outcome. Flour slowly roasted with ghee gives an unmatched nutty aroma that is unbeatable. You can reduce the amount of ghee if you you wish to adjust your taste.
